Free House Tours For Anyone Willing To Carry Boxes

It's been a race to the finish!  Here's a recap of the last 2-1/2 weeks!

On February 8th our kitchen cabinets arrived, and boy were we excited to see this truck!

The beautiful cabinets came wrapped in blankets.  Gill and Pete carefully unloaded in the snowy weather.
We placed a quick phone call to our former neighbor to help with a few of the drawer boxes.
Pete, Gill, Stephanie, Harold and Brandon
 Let the work begin!
Pete worked hard all weekend to set the base cabinets so our counter tops could be made.
This is Matt one of the painters.
A beautiful picture of our drive-way.
 Izzy helping her dad.

Pete was even able to hang a few of the upper cabinets
 This is our wet bar
Jeff from Riverbend Countertops.  He is the only trade that did not come recommend.  I did a Google search for solid surface fabricator in Kalamazoo and found his company.  Another great guy that exceeded our expectations.  If you are in the market for counters I highly recommend his company.

Pete took a break from cabinet installation to take Tori to The Neon Dance Party, Father/Daughter dance.
I made their corsage and boutonniere.

 A Waterfall Braid for Tori

Joe Haas our stone mason was back to do his magic on our fireplace.

Joe and Tim finished this work of art.  Pete custom made the mantel.
Just a bit of the craziness that goes on with the kids

The cover for the fan/light in our master bathroom came up missing, so Pete decided to dumpster dive and YES, he found it.  It was still in the box and in perfect condition.  What are the chances?
Someone had a golden birthday on the 12 of February.

It was a crazy lamp shade on the head kind of party.

Pete's back to work installing the island

Aunt Sherry made the kids a few things for their new bedrooms

The crafty sister!
Peter and Tori installing door knobs and yes, my sister's significant other's name is Peter.
February 18th the counters arrived.

A huge thank you to Jeff for turning these tops around in a week.  Pete was relieved to have them installed before he had to fly to Florida for the week.

He missed Izzy's first band concert.

He almost didn't make it home for Tori's Battle of The Books competition.

Carpet was installed
This past weekend we cooked frozen pizzas in our new oven.
Pete was confident we could get the front load washer on the pedestal he built.  I had to send out a Facebook S.O.S. at 9pm on Saturday night, someone was going to get hurt.

Thanks again Matt Walker for helping us out.

Monday morning the quartz island top was delivered.

Jeff works with a company called Top Of The World Granite out of Grand Rapids for quartz and granite.
It took 4 guys working very hard to get this counter installed

 Thanks Jeff, John and Ryan!

My big sister came to help me clean yesterday.

Nieboer Heating and cooling was back to finish up a few things yesterday and to teach me how to use Carrier's Wi-Fi system.  I now have an app on my phone to control the temperature in our house.  Another company I highly recommend.
Jon and Mike Deleeuw finished up the last of the plumbing.  Yep, I'd recommend Deleeuw Plumbing too!  Unfortunately, I didn't get a picture of Jesse our electrician at the end of our job.  He gets a big thumbs up from us.

We were extremely fortunate to work with many great people on this project.  The biggest compliment I can give them is to refer them to more business.  Please contact me if you are in the market.

Wow, we are still friends at the end of the project!  Look at our dark circles though!

I'm looking forward to cooking something besides frozen pizzas in this kitchen soon.

Tomorrow afternoon we should have an occupancy permit.  Two Men and A Truck are scheduled for Friday morning.  I'm not sure how I'll be ready for them, but it will get done.  Free house tours for anyone willing to carry a few boxes.
